Madrona Counseling is soon to become part of The Counseling Collective, a counseling and training 501(c)3.
The mission of The Counseling Collective is to expand equitable access to ethical counseling supervision, professional development, and workforce participation by supporting counseling students and pre-licensed, provisionally licensed, and fully licensed practitioners from diverse educational and life backgrounds, including individuals who have been previously incarcerated.
The specific purposes include, but are not limited to:
Providing clinical supervision to counseling students, interns, associates, and pre-licensed practitioners in accordance with applicable state laws and professional ethical standards.
Supporting individuals enrolled in:
Accredited counseling, social work, psychology, or related programs;
Nontraditional, alternative, or bridge programs permitted under state law; and
Reentry or workforce development pathways for system-impacted individuals.
Creating supervision and mentorship opportunities that recognize lived experience, rehabilitation, and restorative justice principles.
Offering education, training, workshops, and continuing education related to counseling practice, ethics, supervision, trauma-informed care, and reentry.
Reducing barriers to entry into the counseling profession for individuals historically excluded due to incarceration, poverty, discrimination, or systemic inequities.
Engaging in community education and advocacy related to mental health access, rehabilitation, and professional equity.
Collaborating with educational institutions, community organizations, and correctional or reentry programs when consistent with the Organization’s mission.
